Stand out from the crowd

Just because a company isn’t advertising for staff doesn’t mean that they’re not looking or that they can’t make room for the right candidate.
We all have aspirations and for some of us those aspirations might be to work for a particular organisation, large or small, well known or simply because you know people who work there who say it’s a great place to work.
Employers love to see a proactive approach from candidates. It shows real initiative but how do you get started?
First of all you need to draw up a list of companies that you would really like to work for and research them thoroughly. (If you are a rail engineer rtmjobs.com is a great place to start your research) This will help give you a better insight into the organisation.
Look at the reasons why you would like to work for those companies. Is it location, salary or are you looking to increase your skill sets? Also ask yourself, what can you offer them? Do you have any work experience which could be applicable to the role you are applying for?
In any marketplace employers take extreme care about how and who they choose to recruit. With so much competition, it doesn’t hurt to be a little different to get what you want.
