As opposed to most watches, the straps are attached to the case by screws instead of spring bars - you use the screwdriver that comes with the watch to get rid of the screws from the case and strap. I like this feature; you really feel the straps are effectively secured to the casing. To be truly safe, Panerai has put a modest steel cylinder inside the pinholes of the strap which you must eliminate and put in the holes of the rubber strap.
