Knowing what it means to be purpose driven is much different than actually applying these principles to your life. Here we will discuss how to know if you are living purpose driven and things you can do to bring your life more in line with this powerful principle.

Knowing what it means to be purpose driven is much different than actually applying these principles to your life. Most people find it diverting to mentally create scenarios in their head, or make judgments about the actions and intentions of their neighbor. Even so, few people apply what they discover to their own love life, work or family. Sadly, this is the norm. That is probably why purpose driven living gets so much attention; it's not hard to figure out, but old habits die hard, so to speak. Most people just can't be bothered to make the extra effort that it takes to make lasting changes in their attitudes and actions. Here we will discuss how to know if you are living purpose driven and things you can do to bring your life more in line with this powerful principle.

Proactive or Reactive?

One of the most important aspects of living purpose driven is how you approach situations that cause stress. In simple terms, living with purpose is a proactive environment. Instead of just allowing things to happen to you and reacting without thought, you must begin to anticipate and align your life with your goals. In your love life, being reactive means building positive relationships intentionally. Don't wait for an argument or give in to negative feelings; instead, appreciate your partner and set aside time to nurture your love. Take the same proactive approach with your work, friendships and spending habits.

Positive or Negative?

Another very important aspect of being purpose driven is your attitude. Attitude is a seemingly small thing that has huge consequences to your daily living experience. In almost all instances, those that are purpose driven have a positive attitude. If you don't find that this comes naturally to you, you can intentionally create a positive attitude. Begin paying attention to your self-talk and adjust it to a more healthy dialogue. Over time, this more positive approach will come naturally to you. Attitude is a very powerful tool. Even if you are doing everything else right, a negative attitude has the ability to handicap your growth indefinitely.

Goals or Coincidences?

Good things can happen to anyone. In fact, even those that aren't actively searching for good in their love life might stumble upon the mate of their dreams. However, this can only be considered a coincidence. Someone who has set a goal to foster a healthy family life and stable relationship is more likely to meet a partner that shares their vision. Goals provide the glue that keeps you going when the road gets rocky. They are visionary bits of information that are necessary for a purpose driven life. Goals provide the reason for doing what you do, as well as the drive to work for it.

Morality or Whatever Goes?

Those who live in a purpose driven way adhere to a certain creed. It doesn't matter too much what that creed is and what traditions it is built upon. What does matter is that this moral code is stable and reliable. It's impossible to life with purpose if you allow the tide to carry you wherever. People with purpose have a distinct dash of self control. You have reasons for your life and things that you want to do with it. Those who are distractible by temptations and easily succumb to that flounder. Living with purpose doesn't mean that you have to be a pious follower of any religion. However, firm creeds are a definite plus.
